Aerobic and Anaerobic Digestors for Effluent Treatment
Vessels that have controlled amounts of air for the proliferation of bacteria.
Whether it be from sinks, toilets, factories, or pools, storm drains. When wastewater is treated, an important step to break down organic matter is processing through a digestor tank. This digestor tank can be aerobic or anaerobic and is used to purify and clarify the effluent.
Aerobic digestors are pumped full of air such that there is an increased presence of oxygen within the tank. This oxygen encourages the growth of bacteria that break down the organic matter into more environmentally friendly compounds that are further treated downstream.
Anaerobic digestors are evacuated of air such that anaerobic bacteria, like methanogenic bacteria, are able to multiply and digest the organic material.
These bacteria are capable of breaking down the organic waste with the byproduct of natural gas, which is often drawn out and stored or refined separately for use as a fuel source.

NC Series
Liquid ring technology is advantageous in controlling the oxygen content of the digestor tank because of the presence of moisture in the tank. Dry-running vacuum pumps and compressors are not able to handle slurry, particulates, or moisture inside of its casing. The liquid ring vacuum pump is able to evacuate the anaerobic digestor tank without issues in case there is any contaminant that flies up into the pump; it will simply take it in and push it out. The NC Single Stage Single Cone Series is a collection of vacuum pumps and compressors designed to be drop-in replacements of the NASH Classic SC Series vacuum pumps and compressors. These are models that exhibit excellent tolerance to liquid carryover, as well as solid particulates and slurry bits. This series produces up to 28”HgV of vacuum with a maximum capacity of 3200 CFM. NES provides a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects and is capable of engineering a system package tailored to your individual plant’s constraints.
